Onyx's Senior Project and Career Exploration

Part of my graduation requirements as a senior is to do a “senior project” which is essentially an exploration of the career that I am interested in pursuing after graduation.

My passion is to work in the fashion industry. My current plan is to eventually own a boutique where I can sell my own clothing designs as well as goods from other independent designers.

Over the last two year I have learned many concepts about this industry:

-The creative process (art/research; the sketches above are examples of this)

-The applied science (patternmaking/textile design/apparel construction; the flowers and overalls are examples of this)

-Marketing (advertisement/branding)

-Finances (budgeting/planning/resourcing)

-Business management (putting this all together)

I plan on creating 3-5 outfits, marketing them in a "look-book" and adding them to my career portfolio.

This project will give me an opportunity to get hands-on experience in applying all these concepts to create a product and market it. Being a full time student I need help with the funds to get the materials I need to complete this project. I would greatly appreciate your contribution to help further my education with this opportunity.
