The environment PWCHA is striving to achieve is decrease/eliminate bullying and feelings of no safety in the learning environment. Similarly I am working to create an experience where students build healthy relationships, learn how to engage socially, decrease need to “fit in,” learn important life skills to prepare them for adulthood, eliminate severe emotional disturbances and confusion about self and others that has been increasingly prevalent in today’s world and school systems across the globe. Learning opportunities for students and activities are specifically designed to help learners gain real like experiences, process difficult emotions, experience an entirely different school atmosphere that encourages growth both physically and mentally.

We will utilize learning tools such as books and topics will be relatable to real life, realistic and non-threatening. Students will have the opportunity for extracurricular classes to work on life skills including but not limited to sewing, cooking, budgeting, meal planning, career planning, appropriate use of electronics, empathy building opportunities on animal rescues. Students will complete feelings journals daily, exercise 30 minutes, have an hour long lunch to learn proper digestion, learn table setting, appropriate conversations throughout lunch, guided activities to encourage communication, friendship building and how to navigate difficult interactions with others. PWCHA is looking at year round school opportunities, a decrease in issues if families want to take vacations as family bonding is highly important. With the flexibility of PWCHA, families will be able to complete school on vacation or play “catch up” when home. Staff with PWCHA will never take the role of the parent and parents will work closely with staff to ensure needs are reasonable and realistic for each student.  Here we value our parents/families and everything we do will be to facilitate healthy relationships and growth.  Students will receive an included free hour of Safe Sound Protocol(see page) with their tuition price as well.  PWCHA will utilize minimal electronics for IRIs, ISATS and any other state requirements on the computer. This can also include supportive learning tools, extra tutoring in subjects and educational activities through the programs PWCHA will utilize to teach your student. Given the issues surrounding electronics, I will have special filtering systems and protections placed on routers and computers to eliminate issues. There will also be limited computer access that will be monitored constantly by a staff sitting with your student while they complete tasks necessary for learning. No student will have unmonitored access to anything electronic.Students will be asked to complete "old school" pencil and paper assignments that will be graded and submitted to our accrediting program.  Staff will be the only individuals to have passwords to allow certain learning tools and these will not be given to parents or students. Each student will be able to have a learning environment suited for their needs without question or additional stress on them and/or their families.  PWCHA works on its accreditation I will be utilizing the “homeschool co-op” idea through the Braintree4me program. This will allow me to make sure my curriculum and choices meet Idaho’s requirements as well as will be the process I use to gather my data to apply for accreditation. I will be transitioning all students to this program at each enrollment so please watch for those emails. This is a free program to use and will cover the cost of curriculum and extra activities. However the funding will go through each family member and will not cover the cost of staffing. At the beginning of the year part of enrollment will be transitioning your student to this program and providing me with the login information and I will provide the passwords for each child’s account. I will utilize their funding to supply them with the curriculum they will be using and any necessary items associated with learning. By doing this and using the funding for each student this will allow PWCHA to keep the cost of tuition as low as possible while I work on identifying fundraising opportunities, grants, etc.
