The Jamaica Plain Regan Youth League (JP RYL) provides more than 700 children of Jamaica Plain with the opportunity to play organized baseball and softball in an open, safe, and friendly environment.
I am running the 2019 Boston Marathon and fundraising to support the JP RYL. One of my current hobbies is running, but I grew up playing baseball in South Carolina and was able to experience the importance of team sports firsthand. While most children who play little league will not go on to play professional sports, the lessons and social skills learned through baseball serve as the developmental foundation for these leaders of tomorrow.
The work that the JP RYL is doing to provide that experience to the young boys and girls of Jamaica Plain is wonderful, but they need help in order to provide equipment, uniforms, and field time. Helping in any way ensures that the growth of team sports in a positive, supportive atmosphere will continue in Jamaica Plain well into the future. Thank you!
I have created a raffle for contributors over $50. For every $50 donated, you will be able to place your name in a drawing for one of the four following items:
1. One framed print donated by Atlanta muralist Yoyo Ferro
2. One work apron donated by Billiam, made in Greenville, SC
3. A package of New England cheeses, sauces, and beer (curated by the Sandzén household)
4. For the parents, one night of babysitting (we’ll even come to you)
There will be one drawing for each item, so please let me know which drawing you would like to be in after you have donated (You can do this through the campaign comment section on the Donation Page or through email, [email protected]). Also, if you have already donated, thank you! Please let me know which raffle you’d like to be placed in.
