My wish for my birthday this month of June is to simply give back! A friend of mine, who is a teacher in the Philippines has reached out to me recently. He teaches underprivileged children from ages 10-14 years old who are living below the country’s poverty line. These are good children who deserve smile on their faces even if it means of giving them a simple gift in order for them to have the supplies they need for school. He simply requested if I can help even if it is just something small like providing some school supplies for the school year. I have always wanted to do a charity work and it is a perfect time since my birthday is coming up!!! I wanted to organize “Project 31: The Gift of Love” as a way to give back to others. I understand the hardship and lack of opportunities since I have lived in the Philippines for about 11 years before I came to the United States with my family. We go through life’s challenges, but let us not forget to share the blessings to others! As of 06/05/2014 through 06/30/2014, I am collecting donations through Fundly or you can contact me directly on how you can contribute to “Project 31: Gift of Love.” We have a total of 56 students and a goal of $300-$500 to get school supplies and some other surprise goodies!
Once “Project 31: The Gift of Love” has been accomplished, I will post pictures and videos of the children receiving the gifts! For any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would be glad to hear from you and get any feedbacks!
