Rivers Of Mercy Children's Home

From Rivers of Mercy Children's Home

What began as a small orphanage in 2007 has grown into a loving home for 43 children. We need more space for teens and our staff. Please help us raise $30,000 that will be used to purchase land for expansion.

Update #3

We’ve reached our goal of $30,000—PRAISE THE LORD! Thank you so much to those of you who contributed financially to make this possible. Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you to enable the ministry of ROM to grow and to continue pouring out love, mercy, and care to needy children in Juarez.

While we have been campaigning to raise funds to complete the land payment, our need for this piece of land has already arisen. Our growth has made it necessary for us to “overflow” onto this new piece of property! And so even though we have not completed payment, we are being allowed to use the three existing homes on the property for necessary staff housing. One of our teachers, Ivone, and her husband and two daughters (see photo), are living in one of the homes.

Another one of our staff members, Berenice, and her husband will soon be leaving their room inside the orphanage building and moving into another home on the new property, thus making space in the orphanage for a new full-time missionary, Elona, who is moving to ROM in August. For various reasons these staff members have the need for on-site housing, and, as you can see, this additional piece of property is already helping these needs. We have other plans for the land as well which we’ll move forward with as the Lord leads, such as housing for the older children who end up growing up here at ROM. Thank you for playing a special part in this exciting new chapter of our ministry. May the Lord bless you!

More Info

Rivers of Mercy is a Christ-centered orphanage that offers a safe and loving home to children that have suffered neglect, abuse, abandonment, or come from precarious and needy home situations.

We began in 2007 with 8 children, and there are now 43 children ranging in ages 4-16 who live full-time at Rivers of Mercy. We began with only the orphanage facility, and now we have a school for the children, a playground, and a basketball court.

Our staff, which was initially only a handful of people, now consists of over 15 dedicated members.

As Rivers of Mercy has grown and become home to so many children, changes are needed. The Lord has brought more dedicated laborers to our team, and we have a need for additional staff housing outside of the orphanage facility itself. We also have a need for additional housing/dorms for children that are becoming teenagers and will become young adults here at

Rivers of Mercy. These are children who will not return to their families, and their chances of being adopted are slim—thus, they will grow up into adulthood here. They have become a permanent part of our family here at ROM, and we are committed to them as if they were our own children!

Our kids already include multiple teenagers, and the need exists to separate them from the younger kids, giving them more personal space and an age-specific program.

For these reasons, we would like to purchase a large piece of land right next to the property where the orphanage is located. Our plan is to build staff housing, housing for the older children/teenagers, and hopefully even a turf field!

We do not have any additional space for these needed facilities on our current pieces of land. God has provided the opportunity to acquire this land, but we need to raise $30,000 to purchase it. We must raise the $30,000 in 4 months in order to fulfill our commitment to the seller.

We would like to invite you to play a part in this by making a direct tax-deductible financial donation by click on “Donate now” to help!

Also, please help us to spread the word about this need—share about this project with your friends, family, coworkers, and others! We’re excited, and we’re praying that God will use you to help meet this need for our children!

Update #2

Much thanks to those who have contributed financially toward the land project! Small business Lularoe JessKay came up with a creative way to raise money for the land purchase; for one week, a percentage of their sales were donated to this cause. In addition, they asked their shoppers to purchase leggings for the girls at the orphanage!!! (see photo)
In all, many supporters have contributed over $22,000 to the land project thus far, so we only need $8,000 more to meet our goal of $30,000.

Update #1

God is good! We have been given an amazing donation of $10,000 for the land purchase. We are so grateful to these donors, as well as to everyone else who has donated, for allowing God to use them to advance His work. The Lord is faithful, and continues to show us that when He calls us to do something, He provides!
