The funds raised will cover just the filing fees with the IRS to become a 501(c)3, which are $850. There's already $50 towards this in the account, thus the $800 funds requested. Additionally, our founder and fearless leader will be paying the cost of the accountant out of her pocket to get this filed correctly, with all T's crossed and I's dotted.
Rogue Waters is dedicated to promoting community partnerships in the conservation of wild Pacific salmon and their habitat in the Pacific Northwest. We proudly stand in alliance with those who advocate living a greener lifestyle in the name of environmental sustainability. We know that in order to build and maintain a clean environment we must uphold our responsibility by researching economically and environmentally sustainable solutions, educating the public about current environmental issues and providing a means for others to preserve the ecosystems of the communities in which they live.
To uphold our responsibility, we at Rogue Waters pledge to:Act as an effective source of funding for community volunteer organizations in conserving, restoring and protecting wild Pacific salmon and their habitat.Enhance cooperation and partnership between governments, Tribal organizations, community volunteer groups and others in the interests of conserving, restoring and protecting wild Pacific salmon and their habitat.Promote and improve conservation planning and management at the watershed level as the basis for ensuring effective use of and accountability for funds made available for wild Pacific salmon conservation initiatives.Improve public awareness, education and research with respect to the conservation of wild Pacific salmon and their habitat.
