I want to become an accredited private school and cosmetology instructor because I know firsthand how hard it can be to chase a dream when time, money, and resources are limited. As a single mom, I’ve had to juggle parenthood, work, and personal goals with lots of support from my family, friends and community. I understand the weight of wanting more for yourself and your children but not having the funds to get there. That’s why I believe in creating a space where people like me—especially single parents—can affordably learn a trade, earn a certification, and build a career that helps them support their families without sacrificing everything else.
My vision is to offer an apprenticeship program and free training specifically for inner-city teens and low-income families who don’t have access to traditional beauty school education. I want to provide not just skill training, but also confidence and real-world guidance. For so many people, young and older, cosmetology can be a life changing outlet—a way to earn income, express creativity, and build something of their own. But they’re often priced out of the opportunity before they even get started. Through free or low-cost programs, I plan to remove those barriers and offer a solid, supportive path forward.
With already being a licensed NC Natural Hair care specialist and instructor, a CA Cosmetologist and a certified Hair Loss Practitioner (Medically certified by American Medical Certification Association) By becoming accredited, I’ll be able to officially certify students, giving them something tangible they can use to walk into any salon, launch their own brand, or take on private clients. It’s not just about teaching hair, nails, or makeup it’s about giving people proper training, dignity, independence, and the tools to provide for their families. I want to use my experience and passion to build something bigger than myself—a place that gives people a real chance to change their lives.
