Thank you for continued support. We're glad to be lowering our fundraising goal as pro-bono counsel has been secured for the arrestees. Our goal is to now raise $2,000 to cover any associated court costs. That means we're nearly halfway to the target!
Please continue to share this fundraiser and encourage others to donate if possible. Any amount is appreciated.
Please also note that any money not used for this campaign will be donated to Southerners on New Ground (SONG): http://southernersonnewground.org.
Thanks again!
On Saturday, September 16, hundreds of anti-racist demonstrators showed up to #DefendRVA. Multiple groups converged to stand united against racism. We easily outnumbered the neo-confederate protesters attending the "Protect The General Robert E. Lee Monument Rally," an unpermitted event.
The people of Richmond showed up to defend our communities. This despite fear-mongering from the police in the days leading up to the event. Police became notably more aggressive with the crowd midday and were openly hostile towards counter-protesters.
Several people were arrested in Stuart Circle, as well as during a march calling for an end to all symbols and semblances of white nationalism. A few arrestees have been confirmed released, other statuses are pending. However, all will have court soon and we need to quickly raise money to help with their legal costs.
Please donate to this fund to support those who show up, despite being told to stay home. Now and always, WE keep US safe.
Thank you.
*This Legal Fund is an independent community resource that is available to all anti-racist activists arrested on S16. Any money not used for this campaign will be donated to Southerners on New Ground (SONG): http://southernersonnewground.org.

Thank you for the donations! Pro-bono counsel has been secured for the arrestees, however, there is still a need for money to cover court costs. Please share this fundraiser and encourage others to donate if possible. Every little bit helps!
