Scammed out of $8,000.00

From Maida Shafiq

I'm a single mom working full-time, but I was scammed out of $8,000 by a fake job offer. I used all my credit trying to recover the money, and now I'm drowning in debt. I'm asking for help to get back on my feet

Hi, my name is Madi and I’m a single mom working full-time to support my child. I’ve always done my best to stay strong and provide a stable home, but recently I was the victim of a cruel scam that has left me financially devastated.

I was offered what seemed like a legitimate part time job opportunity online. They asked for a small payment to get started—just $500—and I believed it was a step toward a better future. But after that first payment, they kept asking for more, saying my money was “stuck” and I needed to send more to recover it. I was desperate not to lose what I had already sent, so I kept going—until I had lost $8,000.

With my salary,  after paying my mortgage, bills, and basic living expenses, there’s nothing left. I used up my entire credit line trying to recover the money, and now I’m left with a mountain of debt and no way to pay it back.

This has been emotionally and financially overwhelming. I’m sharing my story not because it’s easy, but because I need help. I’m asking for your support—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser—to help me recover from this nightmare and get back on my feet.

Every dollar will go toward paying off the debt I incurred from this scam and helping me regain financial stability for myself and my child.

Thank you for reading, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for any support you can give.
