Thanks everyone for making our Solarize McDougle project a reality. We've reached our funding goals due to some additional contributions not from the website. You are still welcome to donate to the project, and any additional funds will be used to develop educational tools for the classroom.

More Info

We are Solarize Carrboro, a local initiative whose mission is to bring affordable solar power to the people of North Carolina. We believe this is the best way to bring lower energy costs, self-reliance, and energy independence in a way that protects our environment and lifestyle for future generations. UNC Chapel Hill student interns Drew Chandler and Michael Balot joined the Solarize Carrboro initiative in the spring of 2014 and have worked closely with McDougle Middle School students and teachers to build a solar power system at the front of the school.

We need $8,000 to build this array and install the web-based solar monitoring software that will really transform the project into an educational tool. We have already raised $2,000.

By contributing to this project, you will be supporting McDougle students and Carrboro residents who want to learn more about how solar photovoltaic power works. Your contribution is a tax-deductible donation to a non-profit charity.

If you can't contribute monetarily, we would still love to have your help! Please share our campaign!

If you live in Carrboro, you can also sign up for a free home solar assessment or simply join our mailing list at: http://www.solarizenc.org
