About Me

Friends and Family

As many of you know, my dad was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Truth be told, had my dad not been diagnosed, I probably would have never known about this cancer. Since his MM diagnosis, I've been determined to help the cause in any way I can. Thus...

In efforts to raise awareness for the disease and funds for Multiple Myeloma research, I've coordinated an event, Cycle the Cure, with Cycle Bar, in Carmel, IN. The event itself entails three, 45 minute, instructed cycling classes at the cost of $35/class, along with an open donation pool, raffles, games, etc...

For those who can't make the event, but would still like to donate to the cause, I've created a Fundly account.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like more information about MM, Cycle the Cure, and/or donating!

Cheers,

Sole

The goal is to raise awareness about this rare cancer and generate funding for research and enhanced patient care.

Each fall for over a decade, Dr. Abonour and his fellow Miles for Myeloma cyclists - a crew made up of myeloma researchers and medical caregivers, family members of patients and even a few patients themselves - set out on the annual Miles for Myeloma ride. The two-day cycling event gives myeloma patients and their loved ones the opportunity to conduct personalized fund-raising campaigns to generate awareness about the blood cancer and raise funding for IU research aimed at improving treatments for this rare disease.

Miles for Myeloma has raised more than $5 million for IU multiple myeloma research and patient care since 2005. The work funded by these dollars is helping us better understand the disease and conduct clinical trials to explore new treatment options.

To help support patients affected by the disease today, Miles for Myeloma has broadened its scope and the effort will support both research at the IU Simon Cancer Center via the IU Foundation and enhanced patient care at the IU Health Simon Cancer Center via the IU Health Foundation. Myeloma is incurable, so research and enhanced care are our hope for the future.

Disclaimer: Gifts to Miles for Myeloma support research at the IU School of Medicine via the IU Foundation and enhanced patient care at IU Health via the IU Health Foundation. Gifts and donor information are shared with both foundations. If you prefer your information not be shared, please contact Lizzie Conkle at 317-278-2120 or [email protected].
