Another day of wonderful giving. Your donations will help our Special K's continue to make North Fulton proud at Special Olympics of Georgia competitions. In 2011, we were fortunate to have one of our own compete at the World Games in Greece. Chris Currere set personal records in the bench, squat and deadlift on his way to a 4th place Olympic finish! Chris and all of our superstars thank you for your support!
Last fall the Special K's Throwdown raised enough money to help our program get through the year. Funds raised went to competition fees, equipment, and uniforms. The proceeds supported our athletes in basketball, bowling, cross country, swimming, and track. Your contributions also allowed us to introduce a new sport, soccer, to our program. Our athletes, their families, and our coaches cannot thank you enough!
More athletes and more sports continue to push our need to fund raise. Whether it be participation in our obstacle course competition or an online donation, please know that you are making a difference with our Special K's. As you can see from the pictures, there is much joy in our athletes and coaches. Win or lose, they embody the Special Olympics oath- "Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."

In addition to our online total, mail in contributions have us surpassing 50% of our goal! Thanks to all who have contributed to our fall fundraising campaign. The photo in the update is an example of one of our unified teams. This is when our traditional athletes are teamed with partners( non-disabled peers). Special K's fields unified teams in basketball, track, swimming, cross country and now soccer. A great way to compete!
