Tree of Life’s purpose is to reach out to the poor and needy in our community with the love of Jesus Christ in response to Jesus’ words in Matthew 25:35-36:
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
Tree of Life was BLESSED last year with the opportunity to make over 32,000 impacts to the poor and needy across Loudoun County. Using the example Jesus set in Matthew, we serve those in need through five branches: Food, Life Skills, Shelter (& Clothing), Healthcare and Relief, including financial assistance.
Did you know that most of the people we serve are also SPIRITUALLY hungry? For every call we get, we ask “How can we pray for you?” It is through this request that people pour out their hearts and souls, and we listen and respond in prayer for them at that moment.
Tree of Life is blessed to have four Chaplains and a Prayer & Care Team who reach out to partners and offer hope and prayer as mentioned above. Additionally, this year, they visited 5 nursing homes on a regular basis, led Bible Studies and visits to the Loudoun County Jail, coordinated Bible Studies for Day Break (seniors) and Still Waters (special needs) ministries, and coordinated Bible distribution and outreach at our Summer Giveaways and Christmas for Others events.
