I have been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity since 1991 and I plan to continue as long as I am breathing! I guess you could say I've found my passion, and feel absolutely blessed to be able to pursue it. I love Global Village and I am honored to lead eager volunteers overseas to help build houses and connect with people of another culture. This GV trip to Malawi will be my fifth GV build and my second time serving as Team Leader. I would love for you to visit my website, globalstaci.com, where you can get detailed information on all my builds and travels, including photos and videos. Please consider joining me in loving and serving the world!
Malawi is facing an increasing number of orphans and vulnerable children as a result of the HIV/AIDS crisis that is compounded by poverty and food insecurity. Two years ago, Habitat for Humanity Malawi (HFHM) decided to intervene by starting an Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) program. On this Global Village trip, team members will travel to Mulanje, Malawi to support HFHM’s OVC program. They will have the opportunity to place their work building a home within a broader social context to achieve a deeper understanding of the issues that many residents of Malawi face.
Global Village is Habitat for Humanity’s international volunteer program. Teams travel to over 40 countries to work alongside communities, build housing solutions, and experience local culture. Our goal is to change the lives of the people we serve, as well as the lives of the volunteers.

About Habitat for Humanity International
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 1,300 communities throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
