Growing up, my curiosity about the world led me to explore different cultures and traditions through YouTube documentaries. The rich history of European countries fascinated me, while the nomadic tribes in Africa intrigued me with their unique societal norms. Taking Chinese and Hmong language courses opened my eyes and challenged my perceptions.
Among all the beautiful countries, Spain tugged at my heartstrings. Pursuing education there would allow me to explore their history-rich streets and learn my mother’s second language, Spanish. I want to push myself into the uncomfortable and grow as a person through the various challenges I will experience traversing a new environment. I also hope to absorb their work-life balance and apply it once I'm back in the States to develop a healthy adulthood.
Living abroad has been a lifelong dream, and now, as a university student, I have that opportunity. However, funding remains a challenge. As a full-time student with a heavy course load, my part-time work opportunities are limited due to my school schedule. While scholarships help, they can only cover so much. Every contribution counts, and any funds raised will directly support my journey abroad to pay for housing.
