We are thrilled to announce EqualSRQ’s second annual Give Love and Opportunity Event to be held on Friday, October 25, 2024. A celebration that is more than just a gathering—it’s a lifeline for our community.

As a nonprofit corporation with IRS 501(c)(3) status, EqualSRQ, Inc. is dedicated to improving mental, physical, behavioral, and emotional wellness for individuals affected by substance use disorder and mental health conditions.

This year, we're reaching out to you to help make this event accessible to everyone, especially those who might otherwise miss out. Your support will ensure that tickets are available for participants in our recovery programs and other community members who might not be able to afford them.

Why This Event Matters

Our Give Love and Opportunity Event is a special day where people come together to celebrate progress and resilience in the recovery journey. Half of our attendees are individuals who are in the early stages of their recovery. For them, this event is more than a night out; it’s a chance to connect with others who understand their journey, share stories of triumph, and find strength in community.

The event features live music, delicious food trucks, and a relaxed atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging and joy. It’s a space where people can laugh, connect, and feel uplifted. A space where everyone belongs!

Breaking the Stigma

One of the most powerful aspects of our event is its ability to break down the stigma associated with substance use recovery. When we come together to celebrate, the focus is on joy, laughter, and connection rather than the challenges we face.

It’s common for attendees to comment on how the event blurs the lines between participants and staff, saying things like, “I can’t tell who goes here and who works here.” This sense of unity and shared experience reinforces that recovery is not a solitary journey but a collective one.
