Hello, my name is Heather, and I am raising funds for my family.
Our American/Australian family of five relocated to the U.S. to get medical assistance for our eldest son, Luke, who has Kabuki Syndrome. We had hoped to use our finances to purchase a home but had to divert those funds to taking care of Luke’s needs and as well as transition costs.
In 2022 we were unexpectedly asked to adopt my newborn third cousin whose parents could not care for him. Since that time, I have not been able to work consistently because of our adopted son’s medical conditions.
We were recently informed by our landlord that they would like to sell the home that we have been renting. (Our landlord has kept rent well below the market, and we cannot afford current rental rates.) We have not been able to realize our hope and dream to have our own home and do not have the capacity to fulfill that on our own. Also, we have just learned that we may need to adopt the yet-to-be-born biological sibling of our adopted son in July.
While we have a heart to serve and bless others, we are overwhelmed by unforeseen costs, the cost of the housing market, and the increased likelihood that I will not be able to return to work soon. Your kindness and generosity would assist us with a deposit for our own home, the complex needs of our growing family, and allow us to stay within travelling distance to Seattle Children's Hospital.
