Nichole Lincoln and Josefina Carcamo’s journeys to SPEA haven’t been easy.
Nichole pursued her education off-and-on for years, but committed to finishing after becoming a mother.
“I needed to give my daughters something to strive for while teaching them to finish what they start,” she said.
A SPEA Alumni Association Scholarship allowed Nichole to earn her master’s in criminal justice and public safety.
Josefina’s scholarship helped pave the way toward her MPA in public management. She hopes to return to her native Colombia to work on gender equality and diversity.
“This scholarship enhanced my leadership abilities while reminding me that hard work and persistence are key to success,” Josefina added.
