Indiana University’s tradition of military service and veteran education dates back to its founding in 1820. We are a community rich with diverse experiences, backgrounds, interests, majors, and ideas. The Center for Veteran and Military Students is committed to the success of veteran and military students. Our job is to help each student stay on track, draw on their unique skills, and maximize their educational experience.
The Center for Veteran and Military Students' new house has a lounge space to assist students in exploring co-curricular interests and building a community. For our student veterans, like Jeremiah Saxton, community is key. The sense of community is so strong while serving in the military. Many student veterans feel lost and alone when they complete their commitment to the country and attempt to find new meaning in their life moving forward. In the Center for Veteran and Military Students, Jeremiah found a sense of belonging and community in IU. With this house, IU is home.
Your gift on or before the end of IU’s fiscal year on June 30, 2019 will help support the Center for Veterans and Military Students - students like Jeremiah - and to underwrite the costs associated with services offered by the Center for student programming and services.
IU Alumni, Larry McDaniel, is passionate about support given and community offered at the Center for Veteran and Military Students. He knows firsthand how supporting a veteran can lead to student success through his own experience as a 1976 Kelley School of Business graduate following a distinguished career with the U.S. Navy. Thanks to Larry’s generous support, your gift through June 30, 2019 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000.
