Did you know that the average teacher spends over $1,000 out-of-pocket per year for classroom supplies?
Silicon Valley Education Foundation works with 94.5 KBAY radio station and Bridge Bank to lessen the financial burden on teachers through the Teacher Innovation Grant program. Grant winners receive $500 to help them generate that critical spark necessary to engage students in their own learning.
Since 2006, SVEF has empowered over 1,000 teachers with more than $500,000 in grant money. In April 2013, 34 teachers received this grant.
TIG Grants help inspire students in innovative ways
Each teacher who wins a TIG grant has an inspiring story of how they work to capture the imagination of their students. To read more about other innovative teachers, click here http://www.svefoundation.org/svefoundation/howwehelp/kbay.php#.
