SWEET READS FOR ALL CHILDREN

SWEET READS,  distributes new and gently used books to children in need. It has been long established, that early literacy skills are crucial to establishing a strong academic record as well as laying the foundation for higher education and continued professional success. According to First Book 45 percent of children in the United States – more than 32 million- live in low income households. Most of these children do not have any age appropriate books at home. Additionally, their schools or programs they attend are significantly under resourced. As such, SWEET READS works with community organizations and schools to assist children individually and to increase the diversity of the libraries that they provide for the children.

Additionally, SWEET READS conducts reading and literacy events to bring authors, educators, celebrities and other special guests to engage children and help inspire an early love of reading.
