More Info

"Help us keep the momentum.  It’s clear we need experience racing in Europe to be competitive at the world level.  After the Olympics for Brian and the American Birkebeiner for Caitlin we will fly to central Europe to compete in the remaining OPA Cup races and any World Cup opportunities we can get.  Team Gregg is self funded and your help is greatly appreciated. For any donations of $100 or more we will send you an awesome Team Gregg hat”  Hope you’ll join our team!”

Keep the Momentum Going

“Keep training, keep learning, keep dreaming and keep going”.  Inspiring words from former US Ski Team coach Pete Vordenberg about what you need to do to be a clear choice for that next World Championship or next Olympic team.

Keep training and racing we will.  We plan to resume racing in Europe in the period after the Olympics.  As a self funded team of 2 racers we are responsible for our own expenses as we live, train and race in Europe.  Any support you can provide is greatly appreciated.  We have some awesome bright green Team Gregg Toko hats to share with our supporters.  For any donation of $100 or more we will send you a hat!  Take a picture and we’ll add it to our fan page atfacebook.com/GoTeamGregg. Thanks for cheering

We put it all on the line

We put it all on the line preparing for the 2014 Olympics.  We are as fit as we have ever been.  We committed all our resources to this goal.  The Olympic Team was named on Jan 22.  The anticipation of the naming of the team was intense.  We knew that we had focused everything on making the team but we didn't know if our efforts and results would be good enough.  It was a bittersweet celebration when Brian was named to the team and Caitlin was not.  Watching Caitlin win nationals by over 3 and a half minutes was incredible and we had hoped that statement would earn her a place on the team and a start in the Olympic 30K. It did not, but we are both committed to continue the pursuit of excellence.  We are passionate about skiing and ski racing and we will not lose our momentum.  We are so thankful for the opportunity to pursue our passion.  Thank you to everyone who makes this possible.

What next?

Brian is currently in Sochi preparing for the Olympic races. He is definitely scheduled to do the 30K duathaIon Feb 9 and the 50K freestyle on Feb 23.  The 50K skate race has been his special focus the past 4 years.  He will possibly do the 15k classic Feb 14 and possible a freestyle leg in the the Team relay Feb 16.  After this fantastic Olympic experience and  attending the closing ceremonies he will fly back to Munich to meet up with Caitlin.

Caitlin is back in the USA to continue the Super Tour.  She’ll race in Craftsbury, VT, Minneapolis, MN, and the American Birkebeiner.  This is a lot of racing and travel, but her goal is to keep the Super Tour lead which will giver her world cup start rights. After the Birkie she will fly back to Europe to meet up with Brian.

Together, we will finish out the race season in Europe. Our plan is to join the Europa Cup group led by Bryan Fish, US Ski Team Development coach as well as take advantage of any World Cup starts that we can.  We know that the experience racing in Europe is what we need to be competitive at a higher level.

On March 17th we will fly to Alaska.  We will race in the US Super Tour Finals and  US Distance National Championship  March 22nd-March 30th in Anchorage.  We then are going to stay in Alaska for a week We were just accepted at coaches for NANA Nordic April 7-11 and will head to the Alaskan Bush to teach school kids to ski.NANANordic’s goal is introduce the lifetime sport of cross-country skiing to rural Alaska starting with villages in the NANA region above the Arctic Circle.  You can learn more at http://www.nananordic.com/  We are super excited about this opportunity that fits so well with our passion for skiing and helping underprivileged youth.

We couldn't do this without our sponsors and community. We give back through traveling clinics and our work at the Jerry Gamble Boys and Girls Club. Be sure to watch our video to get a visual picture of what we do.

Our goal is to BOTH be racing at the 2015 World Championships in Falun, Sweeden next Febuary.
