I am raising startup funds for Language Lifestylist, an organization that will host language immersion events to build community for language learners and native speakers to engage in shared lifestyle interests.

Language Lifestylist started out as a passion project in 2013 when I realized that no app in the world could teach me (or anyone!) a language as well as an intentional, language lifestyle could. I envisioned a life where I could walk out the door and go anywhere with the opportunity to speak Spanish and immerse myself in real world language learning experiences in my community while doing the things I love: taking a yoga class, going to the movies, dining out.
There are plenty of language meetup groups in Denver and in cities across the country. Most of these meetups, however, tend to orient toward food and beverage experiences and/or are not designed with learning strategies in mind. Various cultural organizations also host events, but they are not typically designed to bridge language learning with cultural exposure. Instead, at such events either English is used as a standard medium of communication or the non-English language is used to communicate directly to those native speakers (with no language learning supports provided).
The goal of Language Lifestylist is to bring culture and language together in a way that benefits native speakers of non-English languages AND English speakers wanting to learn another language in a culturally rich and meaningful environment.
