Dear Friends and Family,
I hope you’re doing well! I’m reaching out to share some exciting news, I have the incredible opportunity to go on a mission trip to Thailand with my school, Valor International Scholars, this March! This year, I’ll be joining Valor’s Korean school for the trip because I’ve been studying abroad here in South Korea.
Last March, I went on a mission trip to the Philippines. Visiting families in their small homes without heating, cooling, or basic utilities was eye-opening. Despite their hardships, they radiated joy and gratitude, teaching me that true happiness doesn’t come from material possessions but from the community around us and the joy of the Lord. At our sister school in Tongko, I taught kids how to face paint. Even though we didn’t always share a common language, we connected through painting, drawing, and laughter. It showed me that love can be expressed through actions and kindness, not just words. We also spent days helping with construction at a local church, sanding walls, painting, and building cement stairs and pathways to help accessibility. The hard work brought us closer together as a team, especially with the students from our Korean school.
Because of the connections I made on my Philippines mission trip with my fellow Valor students from Korea, I decided to study abroad at Valor Korea. While I was originally meant to stay for only three months, I found myself thriving in a way I hadn’t experienced before. Academics became something I enjoyed because of the community around me. So, I made the choice to stay in Korea until I graduate at the end of May.
Being in South Korea gives me the unique opportunity to go to Thailand for my annual mission trip, a mission site my school in America doesn’t offer. During the trip, we’ll be teaching local kids at an orphanage about Christ and English, helping with community outreach, and providing resources to those in need. I will specifically be part of the education team, helping orphans learn English, and the financial team, managing resources we’re bringing for the trip. I know God will do great things during this mission trip to Thailand, and I’m excited to see how His plan unfolds.
If you feel called to contribute, donations can be sent through my Fundly website until January 22. I’ll place the link at the bottom of this email. More than donations, I would truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Your support, whether through prayer or donation, means so much to me. Thank you so much for your love and encouragement throughout my life. Please let me know if you’d like to hear more details or if you have any questions!
With love,

Hi! I’m Aviah, a senior at Valor Christian School International. One of my favorite parts of being a Valor student is our commitment to missions.
Each school year, Valor sends students to serve in communities around the world. Last year, I helped build a church and another Valor school in the Philippines and spent time sharing the gospel with local children. Feeling God’s presence deeply, I decided to be baptized. I also felt God’s call to study at Valor International Scholars in South Korea for the fall term of my senior year. Since arriving, I have decided to stay the full school year, which I’m super excited about!
Now, I’m excited to have the opportunity to serve in Thailand in 2025! On this mission trip, I’ll be volunteering at an orphanage—spending time with children, sharing God’s love, and helping where needed. I’d be so grateful for your support through prayer or donations to reach my fundraising goal of $1,750.
Thank you for considering!
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
