Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi all,
I hope you are having a fantastic day. My name is Sammy Deeb, and I am creating my second fundraiser to donate toys to kids who have no choice but to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital. I am proud to announce that my fellow broker from my office, Jessica Brejcha and I are partnering up for this year’s fundraiser. Last year I hosted the fundraiser myself, and gathered $1300, which allowed us to buy a great number of toys and items the Children's Hospital of Colorado requested. They shared with me that it was the largest toy donation they had received! This year we plan to top that! We will be donating to two separate hospitals; Children's Hospital of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Children's Hospital. Whether you live in Colorado or not, you can be the reason a child who has to spend Thanksgiving in a hospital smiles this year. On average the Children's Hospital of Colorado alone has about 150 kids who stay during Thanksgiving for health reasons such as cancer, diseases, and other illnesses. Join us in coming together and celebrating the true meaning of Thanksgiving remembering to be thankful for what we have and giving to those who deserve it.
This fundraiser is for anyone who wants to put a smile on a child’s face. We will once again take as many photos as we can and share the experience with all of you.
Background: I Initially started this fundraiser because my cousin Khaled Deeb got diagnosed with Leukemia in March of 2016 and ended up passing away in September of 2018. My cousin was a fighter, he kicked cancers ass twice and the third time it came back we found out he was terminally ill. I spent a lot of time with my cousin in the hospital throughout the years and one thing that stood out to me was that simple gestures of kindness go much further than you would think. Simple things like gift-giving, communication and love would make my cousin feel so much better. It would give him hope and it would keep him from feeling isolated.
This year Jessica wanted to partner up with me and add the Rocky Mountain National Children's hospital because her daughter is a patient there. Jessica mentioned to me that the Rocky Mountain Children's Hospital gets overlooked which is ultimately why we decided to expand this year.
In loving memory of Khaled Deeb (08/12/1996-09/16/2018)

Thank you to everyone that donated and Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for all of your support and us coming together to put a smile on some less fortunate children's faces this Thanksgiving.

From Jessica:
3 years ago our world turned upside down when they removed a lymph node from Avery’s neck. That was the first of many hospital visits and stays. The hardest part of the stays was the red X on her door - it meant isolation. However, one thing that always made me smile was watching Avery smile when the social workers came in with games, paints, and toys. Just to have that moment of “normalcy”.
This year from the help of clients, my company, family, and friends we were able to deliver a ton of toys to Rocky Mountain Children’s Hospital- a place to us that has become a second home. I can’t thank you all enough for your donations. Tomorrow those toys will put a smile on kids' faces who unfortunately are not home for the holiday.
