We are the University of Wisconsin-Madison Physical Therapy Global Health Team composed of five students planning a service learning project for 2016 to Belize! Our project is designed to serve the needs of people with disabilities and those with limited healthcare resources. We are excited to use what we have learned over the past 2 years and make a difference on a global level. Your support and donations can help us make this difference!

**Donations to UW-Physical Therapy Global Health Fund are not tax deductable. We are not a 501 (c) 3 organization ***

Checks may be made out to: "UW DPT Global Health Service Trips"

Attn: Belize, University of Wisconsin Madison, Department of Physical Therapy, 5185 Medical Sciences Center, 1300 University Ave, Madison, WI 53706

We understand that not everyone can make a financial donation to the project, but please support us by sharing the knowledge of our program with others through word of mouth and social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.). As we continue developing our project, we will do our best to share the planning, the experiences on the trips, and the knowledge we gain from this amazing opportunity.

Belize Trip Details: January 2nd - 13th, 2016

This January, 5 second year DPT students will travel to Punta Gorda, Belize to complete three important projects in partnership with Hillside Health Care International:

1. Create culturally relevant handouts that can be used to administer home exercise programs for common conditions including low back pain and shoulder pain.

2. Teach students in about 20 schools about what it means to live with a disability and how it changes daily life while exposing them to persons with a disability in their own communities.

3. Increase the accessibility (i.e. building a wheelchair ramp, widening sidewalks, adding grab bars/rails) to individual's homes.
