Austin Habitat for Humanity's mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Our goal is to raise $20,000, to help a hard working and deserving family move into their first home.

Austin Habitat for Humanity truly offers a hand up, not a hand out. The family partners work very hard for these homes. They must make 60%-80% of the Median Family Income. Additionally, each family completes 300 sweat equity hours where they work with volunteers and community members to build their own home and the home of other Habitat partner families.
When finished, the homes aren't free. Each family buys the home with a zero-profit, 30-year mortgage payable to Austin Habitat for Humanity. We then use those payments to build more homes for other deserving Austinites. It's a great model and a great organization offering a hand up, not a hand out, to our hard-working, low-income neighbors.
