Boxer mix Zyler was hit by a car and left for dead. Luckily a kind person found him and brought him to BDAR. He sustained significant injuries and we are raising money to help support his recovery.

On the morning of January 12th, 2016, a volunteer with BDAR happened upon Zyler lying off the side of the road. When Tracy pulled over to look further, she feared the young boxer mix had died after being hit by a car. But as she walked nearer to him, Tracy was greeted by a wagging tail.
Zyler had sustained obvious injury and was curled up inside an old deer carcass, using the hide for warmth. But he came to her willingly and Tracy took him immediately to a vet for care.
Since no owner came forward to reclaim Zyler, he came to BDAR instead and is now getting the treatment he needs to recover from his terrible injuries. Zyler lost a toe due to a de-gloving injury in his front foot and his tail had to be amputated after part of it was torn off. He also suffered numerous abrasions and had to have a pad stitched together on his other front foot.
Zyler has undergone one surgery already to debride his infected foot of dead and mangled tissue. He may require future surgery to help it heal. This sweet boy is also at least 15 pounds underweight - his neglect has been ongoing for a while.
Your donations today will help us pay for the care Zyler has already received and also ensures we can continue providing the needed follow-up. Zyler will need several weeks of continued bandage changes and monitoring to ensure he is fully recovered from his ordeal. Should more money be raised than is necessary to pay his bills, additional funds will be deposited to our Clyde Fund, a special savings account for dogs with extraordinary needs.
Throughout this process, he has proven himself to be a gentle, endearing dog with a love for all things tennis ball. Zyler is rarely without one in his mouth! It is our hope to get him completely recovered and then adopted into a caring life-long home.
Thank you for your donation and for helping us continue to provide extraordinary care to homeless pets so that they can get the second chance in life they deserve.
