We just had a $200 cash donation come in yesterday at the Washington Township office for the Monterey Pass Battlefield Park. Thank you Ted for your donation.That now brings us up to $570.00.

As we try to raise money, we are also working in the park. today, we installed another kiosk along Rolando Woods Trail to help those with mobility needs so they can also understand the battle and get a sense of the battlefield park.

This image is everything that still needs to be set in order to open the battlefield park. As you can see a lot of ground has been covered so far. Additional trails are planned and will open later in the year.

There's still plenty of time to help pass the word and help our Civil War battlefield park. We are currently installing trails and interpretative markers. We are trying to open the park by this coming fall.

Did you know that our Civil War battlefield park includes a piece of history dating back to the late 1740's? The Great Wagon Road from Philadelphia to Appalachia was first established in 1747, wide enough to allow pack horses through. Years of erosion allowed the path to be widened to allow larger wagons through. It became an official Pennsylvania Highway in 1787.
