On Tuesday November 12th I took a pretty bad fall at roller derby practice, I both felt and heard a bone in my leg snap. Several hours at the ER and a next day Ortho appointment, it's been determined I need surgery.

So I had my surgery consult today. Surgery will be Thursday morning, based on the consult they suspect I blew out my syndesmosis (the ligament that holds your tibia and fibula together), and a torn deltoid ligament. She also said it felt like I tore through the fascia, so I really just exploded my ankle. The bandages came off for a few minutes for the exam and I got to scratch my leg though, which was heaven. Best case scenario I'm non weight bearing for minimum 6 weeks. I will need to keep my foot highly elevated for at least 2 weeks post op, the phrase used was 'Toes above nose' Until surgery we won't know the true extent of my ligament damage so my recovery time will remain a vague guess until then.
I want to send my most sincere thanks to everyone who has donated, shared, reached out, brought a meal, and shared their own experiences with me. I've cried more than once from how incredibly loved people have made me feel.
